Fragmentary Head of a Man

This fragmentary face once belonged to a small male statue in painted limestone. The black pigment used for the hair and red paint used for the skin, conform to ancient Egyptian artistic conventions. The oval-shaped face and the full, almost pouting, lips provide a date within the New Kingdom.
