拳銃の火打石式の点火装置は、発明以降200年間銃器製造技術において最も重要な装置となりました。この銃は、火打石式の銃の最古の作品のひとつで、火打石の発明者とされるリジュー出身のピエールとマーティン・ル・ブルジョワによってルイ13世のために作られました。この銃には王冠を頂いた国王のモノグラムが施され、繊細な針金と真珠貝の象嵌、精巧に彫られた木の銃床、そして金メッキされた青銅の金具でふんだんに装飾されています。ルイ13世は銃器の熱心な収集家で、鉄砲作りも手がけました。この作品には在庫番号134番が刻まれており、これが王室のコレクションの一部だったことを示しています。
