タヒチの南東にあるガンビエ諸島のマンガレバの人々は、主要な神々、祖先、その他の霊を含む、多様な超自然的存在を崇拝しました。そのいくつかはポリネシア語が語源のティキ(人物像)として表されました。マンガレバの彫刻のほとんどは、島民が1835–36年にキリスト教に改宗した際に破壊され、今日現存するのは12体ほどです。このティキが誰を表すのかは不明ですが、農作物を成長させる雨をもたらし、虹と霧が出現のサインと見なされていた伝統的な農業の神ロゴの像に類似しています。
