トラキアの優れた装飾技術を誇るこの銀杯は、おそらく今日のルーマニアまたはブルガリア地方で作られたものと思われます。見事なまでに装飾的に表された鳥獣類と、動物の角が鳥の頭に変わるところなどは、紀元前 1 千年紀にロシア南部の大草原地帯からヨーロッパへと勢力を拡大していた遊牧民族の美術によく見られる特徴です。同時期のスキタイとイランの様式の影響が一部見られますが、描かれた図像は明らかにトラキアのものであり、おそらく地元の神話または伝説に由来するものと思われます。
