円筒印章と印影:狩猟図

ふたつの場面が刻まれているこの円筒印章は、間の様式化された風景によって、連続模様を作り出します。2 本の高い木の間でアイベックス(ヤギ科の動物)の角を掴む狩人の頭上には、くさび形文字でこの印章の所有者、宮廷の酌取りバル・イリの名前が刻まれています。もう一方の場面には、3本の木を挟んで対面するアイベックスが山頂に立っています。この印章が作られたアッカド時代は、印章に刻まれる図像にさまざまな新しい神話、テーマ、物語の主題が取り入れられました。
