龍花文のタペストリー

この絹製のタペストリーは、伝統的な文様を巧みに組み合わせる中央アジアの典型的な装飾様式を呈しています。長く突き出た鼻を持ち、尾が脚の後ろに掛かった龍の姿は唐時代の伝統的な図様でしたが、モンゴルのフビライ・ハーンによって1271年に創始された元時代まで中央アジアで継承されました。花絨毯の上に龍を配した構図はおそらく中央アジアの創案でしょう。あざやかな色彩と龍の生き生きした様子も、この地域のタペストリーの特徴です。素晴らしい綴れ織りの衣装で知られるウイグル民族により製作されたものと思われます。
