桃花紅瓶
この小さな花瓶に見られる「桃花」釉のような、斬新な浅紅色の釉薬が最初に作られたのは17世紀第3四半期のことでした。従来この形状の小型の花瓶は、8個またはそれ以上の数を一組とした書き物机用の装具として作られたものだと考えられていました。この花瓶は、筆記具とともに発見されそれぞれ微妙に異なる形をした4つのうちのひとつで、首の部分にある3つの輪が他とは異なっています。この種の装具は必ずしも実用向けではありせんでしたが、おそらく宮廷の役人への贈物として作られたと思われます。宮廷向けの製品によく見られるように、底には「大清康熙年製」の銘があり、康熙年間の作であることを示唆していますが、書体から1678–1688年に製造されたことが分かっています。
