菊桐文銚子

この銚子は、1590年代に日本を統一した太閤豊臣秀吉(1536–1598年)が実際に使った可能性のあるものです。秀吉は豪華絢爛を好んだ権力者でした。彼の霊廟がある高台寺には、細かに観察した秋草や豊臣家の家紋などを配した、幸阿弥派の漆器が備えられています。後に高台寺蒔絵(豪華な金の装飾がある黒漆器を指す)と呼ばれる装飾様式のこの器は、2 種類の完全に異なる色、筆致、そして文様の見事なコントラストが際立っています。この種の装飾は漆器だけでなく、当時の陶器や染織においても特に好まれました。
