幼子イエスの寝台

15世紀と16世紀、ミニチュアの幼子イエスの寝台が信仰のアイテムとして人気を博し、特に修道会に入会する女性への贈物として用いられました。この見事な寝台は、平信徒の女性のために12 世紀にベルギーのルーバンに建てられたベギン会大修道院が所有していたもので、両端にはキリストの降誕と東方三博士礼拝の場面の彫刻が施されています。掛け布団には、聖書に書かれたキリストの家系図の刺繍が施されています。
