フランク王国で作られたガラス製品の大半は、単純な造形で色の種類も限られており、装飾も一般にガラスに溝をつけただけのものでした。一方、斬新なデザインの製品のうち、最も凝ったものは鉤爪付きの杯で、把手のような形の装飾が突き出たものです。現存する数少ない作品のほとんどは、豊富な埋蔵品が納められた貴族の墓から出土しました。
