この素晴らしいダブレットは、現存する1620年代の2点のダブレットのうちのひとつです。もう片方は、ロンドンのヴィクトリア・アンド・アルバート美術館に収蔵されています。この種の上着が流行したのは非常に短い期間でした。上質の絹のブロケードクロスで仕立てられており、ピンキングと装飾的な切れ目が施されています。ピンキングとは、故意に布地を裂くことであり、中に着たシャツ、シュミーズ、または色鮮やかな裏地を見せるために好んで使われた装飾技法でした。ピンキングによって作られた図案が作品の実際の裁断と合っていないことから、この作品は以前に別の用途のためにピンキングを施した絹布を使って制作された可能性があります。
