유피테르와 유노: “푸르티 디 지오베” 태피스트리를 위한 습작

라파엘로의 재능 있는 제자였던 페리노 델 바가는 16세기에 활동했던 가장 중요하고 영향력 있는 화가 중 한 명입니다. 이 정성들인 습작은 침대에 비스듬히 누워 있는 유피테르(주피터)와 유노(주노)를 보여 주며 유피테르의 밀회를 묘사한 푸르티 디 지오베라는 연작의 일부였지만 현재는 소실된 태피스트리를 위한 디자인이었습니다. 1520년대 말부터1530년대까지 페리노가 보필했던 해군 영웅이며 제노바를 통치했던 안드레아 도리아가 이 작품의 제작을 의뢰하였습니다. 이 소묘의 대형 사이즈, 수준 높은 완성도, 잉크, 담채 그리고 백색 하이라이트의 풍부한 조합이 특히 뛰어나며 소묘에 능숙한 화가의 기량을 한껏 보여줍니다.
