베르나르도 다디는 조토 다음으로 그 세대의 주요한 피렌체 화가였습니다. 이 패널화는 경배된 유물인 성모의 허리띠가 있는 피렌체 근처 프라토 대성당 내 새크로 칭골로 예배당을 위해 그린 가장 중요한 제단화에서 상위 절반을 형성했을 가능성이 많습니다. 성모는 여섯 명의 천사에 의해 천국으로 옮겨졌는데 그녀는 피승천의 증거로 성 도마에게 끈을 내려뜨리고 있으며 성 도마의 손이 패널화의 맨 왼쪽 가장자리에 보입니다. 제단화에서 분실된 하단 절반은 아마 성모의 임종 자리에 모인 사도들과 함께 있는 성 도마를 묘사했을 것입니다.
