يعتمد هذا العمل البارع لميكلانجيلو على مساعد في المرسم أو نموذج حي اتخذ هذه الوضعية، وهو رسم لرأس وجذع ويدين مرفوعتَين لشخص مفتول العضلات يلوي جسمه بطلاوة ضمن دراسة للكاهنة الليبية سيبيل. وتُعدّ سيبيل إحدى العرّافات في المعتقدات الوثنية تظهر صورتها على السقف المزدان بالرسومات في كنيسة سيستينا في قصر الفاتيكان. وفي سلسلة من المسودات التكميلية، أعاد الفنان دراسة التفاصيل مثل الهيئة الراقية للشخصية وكعبها الملتف ويدها المرفوعة التي تسمك في رسم الفاتيكان كتاب العرافة سيبيل. كان هذا العمل ملكًا لورثة الفنان بعد وفاته، ويُعدّ من أهم رسومات ميكلانجيلو وأشهرها.
