Design for urns

Tiffany Studios

Not on view

In a 1913 Tiffany Studios publication distributed to clients, the Ecclesiastical Department declared that no form of mortuary monument was too simple or too elaborate for them to undertake—their chief interest was the design rather than the cost. This claim is upheld by the suggestion for three flower containers for the private mausoleum of a Miss Ida McCague. Although the drawings are simple, the hand-written notes indicate the level of care and thought that went into the design.
