Glass bracelet

Roman

Not on view

Cobalt blue, appearing opaque black.
Large circular band; flat in section; ends of band overlap, having been pressed together.

Interior decorated with six parallel horizontal ribs, flattened where ends were joined.

Intact; dulling, pitting, brilliant iridescence, and small patches of thick creamy weathering.

The fact that the rib decoration occurs on the inner surface clearly indicates that it was applied when the band was flat before it was made into a circle.
