Glass perfume bottle

Roman

Not on view

Translucent blue green.
Tubular rim, folded out, round, and in, and flattened on upper surface; short cylindrical neck; conical body with slightly convex profile to side, then curving in to broad, slightly concave bottom.
Broken and repaired, with alien rim attached to neck, cracked around lower body; pinprick bubbles and blowing striations; pitting, dulling, brilliant iridescence, and patches of thick creamy brown weathering. Some fill around neck.
The bottle is a late 19th-century pastiche; originally, it probably has a taller neck similar to 17.194.79.
