Glass jug

Roman

Not on view

Colorless, with green tinge; handle and trail in translucent light blue (?).

Vertical, uneven rim, partly folded inwards; funnel-shaped neck, with concave profile; bulbous body; kick in bottom, with small pontil mark at center; rod handle applied as a large pad on upper body drawn up and outward, then turned in and down, and trailed onto middle of neck.

The handle continues as a trail decoration wound spirally just over five times up neck, becoming smaller and thinner, ending below rim.

Broken on body, with large hole, showing eggshell thinness of side; pinprick bubbles; most of surfaces covered with thick creamy weathering and slight iridescence.
