Drinking in the Bamboo Garden on the Lantern Festival

Luo Ping Chinese

Not on view

Within the Bamboo Garden, a group of friends celebrates the first full moon of the lunar calendar with a drinking party. Protected by barriers on all sides and encircled by mists that obscure even the suggestion of neighboring properties, the garden is presented as a world unto itself—a land of craggy rocks, old pines, and verdant young bamboo that exists solely for the enjoyment of its inhabitants.
