String of beads

Middle Kingdom–Early New Kingdom

On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 109

These amethyst beads were found in the surface sand, or radim, of the North Pyramid site. When they first arrived at the Museum, they were strung in two groups (15.3.544 and 15.3.545), each 26cm long, and later joined into a single string.
