Manufactory Linthorpe Pottery Works British

Not on view

This jug and another of the same model manufactured by Ault Pottery (2016.178.5) represent a single Christopher Dresser model produced by two different factories at different dates. When Linthorpe closed in 1889, its molds were acquired by Ault Pottery. In 1893, Dresser signed a contract with Ault to produce new designs; the contract also stated that going forward, each piece should be marked with his facsimile signature.
