Massoud Arabshahi Iranian

Not on view

Early in his career, Arabshahi became interested in ancient Mesopotamian imagery and Zoroastrian symbols. Using tactile materials including metal and clay, he created sculptural works that evoked a sense of the past. This work has a cosmic quality. The thickness and size of the central sphere dominates the composition and reflects an ongoing interest in bold shapes that may be archetypes of ancient civilizations.
