Armstrong worked for publisher Dodd, Mead, & Co. on a number of book cover designs. This binding may have been a special holiday gift book. While the cover is unsigned, it includes a frontispiece signed by Margaret Armstrong, four floral border designs for the text pages by Armstrong, and features nine full-page signed tinted illustrations by the designer's sister, Helen Maitland Armstrong.
