Solid carved book : Holy Bible

This faux bible is carved from a solid piece of wood. The rounded spine features three wide, raised bands, carved in relief. The title HOLY/BIB/LE is incised into the front cover. The back cover is undecorated, and all edges are painted gold. On the foredge is a false clasp of pierced sheet metal cut in an "H" motif, that was secured using a small flat-head nail at each corner (one missing).-- description by Mindell Dubansky in consultation with Marijn Manuels
