Catalogue of the collection of glass formed by Felix Slade : with notes on the history of glass making

Author Alexander Nesbitt

On View Gallery Watson Library

Felix Slade (1788-1868), a London lawyer and the first serious collector of glass to catalog his holdings, began his collection by acquiring Venetian glass. He generously shared his collection through private viewings, exhibition loans, and the publication of this volume, which features twenty-two colored lithograph plates. The Slade collection had a formative influence on Moore’s own glass collecting.
