I have had the pleasure to despatch Your Book to you carefully packed by Passenger Train today. I paid the carriage as far as possible It is the first copy issued - and I am quite pleased to think that the Bristol Art Society will so soon see my Book & that you should possess it

our great laureate Alfred Tennyson himself is very much pleased with this ideal representation of his Idylls & his own Portrait is the one he most likes indeed it is like one of the Prophets of Old.

The hollow oak in the Merlin came off the Poet's own grounds. I might have waited a hundred years before such a perfect thing had been prepared for me & another hundred before I could find such another Merlin as my Husband
