Box in the form of two books, with compartment and mirror

On View Gallery Watson Library

This fine example of a double-book box has compartments on both sides. Both compartments have slide lids which open in opposing directions. Each of the compartments has room enough for small incidentals, and one side has a mirror attached to its base. The two exterior sides of the box are decorated with variant patterns of Gothic-style chip carving.
