Box in book form, with single drawer
This footed tartan book box is painted in red, green, black and gold. Its head, tail and foredge have floral designs in red, green and orange against a white background. The drawer interior is painted white with black top edging; exterior parts are unfinished. All painted surfaces are covered with a clear varnish that has degraded and yellowed. The drawer contains six compartments, its front is fitted with two turned-wood pulls.
