ラマ僧とマハーシッダに付き添われるジャナナタパの肖像画

この肖像画は、チベット東部にあるリウォチェ寺(総本山タクルン寺の末寺)のために制作されたもので、このふたつの僧院間の系統図を示しています。中心に描かれている人物の名前は示されていませんが、この絵に取り付けられている布幕にインドの有名なマハーシッダ(「大成就者」、密教の祖師のひとり)ジャナナタパの名前があり、中心人物の上にいる神はアヴァガーバであることが分かっています。タクルン寺の正式な記録では、リンウォチェ寺の最初の住職は、ベンガルのシッダ(到達者)だった密教教師アヴァガーバの教えを受けた「無類のマハーシッダ・ジャナナタパ」の生まれ変わりだとされています。
