Прислужницы Афродиты — Аглая (Красота), Евфросина (Радость) и Талия (Изобилие) — изображены обнажёнными юными девами в грациозных позах. До сих пор неизвестно, где и кем был впервые использован такой сюжет, но, вероятней всего, это произошло в поздний эллинистический период. В дальнейшем эта тема стала одной из наиболее популярных и широко используемых в римском искусстве, прослеживаясь в различных художественных формах, на всевозможных предметах: от монет до саркофагов и мозаики. Эта скульптура в своё время могла украшать сад или общественные бани.
