瓦朗日维尔房间

使这间房里的细木护壁板（boiserie）熠熠生辉的主要原因是极好的雕工，其中一部分是高浮雕。这些木饰板最初来自十八世纪巴黎的一个私人宅第——瓦朗日维尔宅第，经历不少变更后，这栋房子如今依然矗立在圣日尔曼大道 217 号。虽然彩绘并镀金的橡木饰板上装饰着众多C 字形涡卷纹、S 字形涡卷纹、花枝和花园石贝装饰物，但其装饰基本还是对称的，因此不能代表成熟的洛可可风格。诸多战利品装饰暗指一些概念和品质，如音乐、园艺、军事名望和高贵的荣耀。栖息在带涡卷纹的镜框和墙壁板上的长颈鸟反映出那一时代对异国情调的兴趣。
