Collection of stained-glass designs

Primarily Thomas Wright American

Not on view

This highly decorative design for a stained-glass window was made by Thomas Wright, a designer and glazier with a studio in New York City, working during America’s Gilded Age. Highly skilled in his craft of selecting glass and assembling windows, he made his own designs and had a thriving business executing those of other architects and artists. His most notable partnership was with the pioneer American stained-glass artist John La Farge, who had complete confidence in Wright’s ability to realize his designs in glass.
