Window curtain hardware from the bedroom of the Worsham-Rockefeller House, 4 West 54th Street
This window hardware—consisting of lions-head brackets, studded ball finials, and curtain rings of various sizes—are original to the Worsham-Rockefeller House, located at 4 West 54th Street (demolished). They were selected by George A. Schastey & Co. as one of the many decorative finishes for the principle bedchamber during a complete interior renovation of the house by one of Schastey’s most loyal clients, Arabella Worsham. Surviving watercolor designs by Schastey and period photographs of his original decorative scheme of the 54th Street house confirm that he frequently used these bracket and finial designs in his interiors.
