Chatting over Tea

Wu Jide Chinese

Not on view

In the dim light of a teashop interior, the silhouettes of two conversing men appear like paper cutouts. Wu Jide captures the intimacy of this moment of leisure through a masterful use of color gradations.

Wu Jide has spent his whole life in the Yangzi River delta region. Scenes from his home county are often the subjects of his art. This print ranks among his best.
