Danish archeologist Asmussen Worsaae, considered a principal founder of prehistoric archeology, was a mentor to a new generation of archaeologists and the second director of the National Museum of Denmark. Moore owned a number of books about northern European and Celtic history, archaeology, and art. His interest in these artistic traditions manifests itself in the intricate strapwork and other such motifs incorporated into Tiffany silver.
