Dieser kleine Sphinx aus hellblauer Fayence ist mit dem Namen König Amenophis III. versehen und zeigt die charakteristischen stilisierten Gesichtszüge die typisch für die Darstellungen dieses Herrschers sind. Die Spinxvariante mit Menschenhänden, die Opfergefäße halten, existierte bereits zur Zeit des Alten Reichs; zahlreiche Darstellungen aus dem Neuen Reich zeigen einen König, der eine kleine Figur darbietet, die ebenfalls eine darreichende Haltung einnimmt.
