This figurative dynamic has two distinct focal points: the startling white gaze of the female figure’s inlaid glass eyes; and her lower body, where a miniature male figure is cradled in her lap. The blank, unadorned expanse of her torso between these creates a physical separation and sense of detachment. Decoration is concentrated in the area of her upper body as a network of stippled lozenges.
