Bead with Serpent and Star Motif

Mexica

Not on view

This bead represents two intertwined serpents and a star, cast using the lost-wax process with false filigree and falls granule techniques. Each detail had to be created in a wax model before being cast. This level of precision and excellence reveals the ability of the Mexica goldworkers.
