Stamps by Uncle Sam. Vol. 1

The miniature books in this grouping are examples of the variety of book jewels and charms made as souvenirs and gifts, during the 19th and 20th centuries. The silver bracelet was a popular item made in several variants. “Souvenir,” meaning “memory” in French, indicates it is a love token, rather than a travel souvenir. The other books presented are a colorful open book brooch and pendant with a hidden crystal-covered compartment on the back, and a practical box for storing postage stamps.
