This locket has two covers, identically decorated with hand and milled engraving. The "book block" is a box that opens, both front and back of it have oval cut-outs with glass. The interior covers of the book are undecorated. The spine has multiple engraved lines across it resembling bands. A foredge clasp is attached back cover; a hanging loop and jump ring in the center of the top of the book. -- description by Mindell Dubansky in consultation with Lynn Heckman
