Box in the form of a book
The elaborate front cover of this box is veneered with various woods creating a large diamond pattern by book-matching the pattern four ways. The back cover, the spine and the outer edges of the front cover are painted black. The edges are painted gold, as with an actual book. The drawer opens from the spine. Its interior is painted gold and has a brown velvet lining, with traces of red paint.
