三日月型ペンダント

ファーティマ朝(969–1171 年)のカイロで作 られた美術品は、人物と動物のモチーフが目立って増えたことと、高い工芸技術を特色としています。透かし彫りの金格子の土台の上に凝った図案を施したこのペンダントは、この時代の金細工の優品です。ファーティマ朝の金細工師はビザンチン美術に発想を得て三日月形のペンダントを作り、中心にある鳥を七宝細工で表しました。この七宝細工は、既存のものをを購入し、接着剤で金の土台に取り付けた可能性があります。
