壁龛

一座清真寺里最重要的部分就是“米哈拉布”，即指明麦加方向的壁龛。麦加是阿拉伯的伊斯兰教朝觐圣地，也是穆斯林做礼拜时朝向的地方。这件壁龛来自伊斯法罕的伊玛米伊斯兰学校，由镶嵌的小釉面砖拼接起来形成各种纹样和铭文。《古兰经》经文从外框的右下角一直延伸到左下角；第二段铭文是先知穆罕默德的箴言，以库法体书写在壁龛拱门的尖顶边上；第三段铭文以草书写就，设在壁龛中心的框里。这些特色共同组成现存最早、最精美的镶嵌瓷砖艺术品的典范。
