Not on view
A man and woman confront caged lions with alarm. A Royal Menagerie had been housed at the Tower of London since the 14th century and remained active in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Londoners could also visit a menateire at the Exeter Exchange, built next to Exeter House on the North side of the Strand around 1773.
