Head Ornament
Not on view
This type of ornament would have been attached to a headscarf or diadem on either side of the head, and connected by a chain to a large decorative earring which hung alongside the ear (such as 65.265.1–4). Jewels of this type are best known to have been worn by Jewish women in Morocco. The pin on the reverse suggests this object may have been repurposed as a brooch or fibula.
