Dish depicting a Wedding Procession
This large fluted dish is a fine example of the Kashan style of luster pottery of the late twelfth century onward, in which figures are drawn in reserve on a luster ground. Here, forty‑four figures are clustered around the central veiled woman, probably a bride, seated in a litter.
