Young Man Reading: Eighty-two prints engraved by F. Bartolozzi, etc., from the original drawings of Guercino in the collection of His Majesty, vol. I
In addition to making and publishing prints, Dalton served as librarian to the Prince of Wales, and traveled to Italy to collect art for George III. After his return around 1764, he made etchings based on Guercino drawings in the Royal Collection. The present impression was issued by John and Josiah Boydell, after they acquired groups of Dalton's plates in 1791-92.
