Rectangular sheet of paper with a textile design from a group, dated 1840, made in Mulhouse, Alsace which was an important nineteenth-century center for textile production in the Haut-Rhin region of France. The design consists of vertical garlands rendered with stipples of dark reddish-brown color over a light tan base, bordered with pearls aligned to form a pattern of semicircles, and decorated with oval-shaped rings, over a glitched background of light tan color over a dark reddish-brown base. The pearls are of white color, and the oval-shaped rings are of yellor, green and purple color and have red outlines.
