Not on view

Engraving, part of a set of six rectangular prints with white backgrounds, representing different types of hunting scenes. In the first plane, on the left, a huntsman, in the company of his dog, shoots a heron or stork with an arquebus; another, near the center of the plate, points to a rabbit with a crossbow and, to the right, another man, sitting next to a net laid on the ground, holds some sort of decoy in his hands. In the second plane, other huntsmen with their dogs follow a hare, while a deer tries to escape, running towards the right. In the background, a group of hunters engage in falconry, chasing a falcon who, in turn, carries a pelican as his prey in his claws. This falconry scene recalls a print for April by Delaune in a series of representations of the labors of the months.
