We Reject War

Francisco Mora Mexican
Probably Taller de Gráfica Popular, Mexico City Mexican

On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 690

Mora joined the Taller de Gráfica Popular in Mexico City in 1941 and remained a member until 1965. He probably created this print at the workshop, where he was encouraged to produce art that focused on social justice. In the print, Mora widened his lens to assert a universal message, depicting a couple and their child expressing his own antipathy to war. The subject of the print is known through an inscription on the back of this sheet.
